Arran Stud is a developing stud farm in Robertson, very close to Ridgemont Highlands.

The co-investors bring an extraordinary wealth of experience to the boutique operation which offers a limited number of seasonal boarding places adding to the year-round mare band.

The farm is named for the Isle of Arran off the Ayrshire coast in the West of Scotland – reflecting the origins of co-principal and Farm Manager Fran Cowe (see Our Team) – and is the successor to Arran House in Newmarket where Fran and husband Walter Cowe cared for boarding mares including a South African champion filly visiting top Juddmonte stallions.

Not (yet) a showpiece stud farm but on the way, Arran Stud’s lush grassed paddocks and dry camps, its regular and foaling stabling, and its little nursery paddocks form a well-equipped smaller-scale home to happy boarding and owned mares that are cared for with extraordinary attention to detail – to the satisfaction of various professional mare owners whether year-round or seasonal from another province.
